Emily's Big Girl Bed!!!

Well, we knew it was coming eventually. Monday night, Emily decided to climb right over her baby bed. Scott and I both heard a bump from her room, but that is not unusual, because she lies in her bed and kicks the headboard with her feet all the time. About 1o minutes later, we hear what sounds like a drawer opening from her room. I go in to check, and there she is, standing by her dresser, with 2 drawers emptied.

So, she and I made a trip to Target to purchase a bed rail and a new pillow. Scott converted her bed from baby bed to toddler bed last night, and Emily was so excited about her new big girl bed. I just knew that we were in for a long night of up-and-down, up-and-down, but she went right to bed, and fell asleep just like she always has. We have the monitor that goes under the mattress to detect movement and breathing, and at 7:30 this morning, it started beeping, letting me know that she had climbed out of bed. I walked in, and their she stood, grinning from ear to ear, so proud of herself and her new big girl bed!

4th of July Celebrations!!!

We had such a busy and fun 4th! It all started Thursday night with a cookout at Nana and Papa Clark's house. Emily and Clark had so much fun playing outside. The night ended with fireworks!!! On Friday, we went to Uncle Wayne and Aunt Diane's house for a cookout and swimming. Emily swam like the big girls with a little help from her arm floaties (see video below). We headed back to Florence that afternoon in time for the big fireworks show on the river. Emily didn't quite make it through the fireworks show (as you can see from the photo below). She was so exhausted from our busy day.

Round and Round on the Carousel!!!

There is a great new outdoor shopping complex in Huntsville called Bridgestreet. Emily loves going there, because they have a beautiful carousel out by the water...and this girl is crazy about a carousel ride!!! Mommy and Daddy like to go because one of our favorite restaurants is there...P.F. Changs!!!

Vacation Bible School

Last week was our Vacation Bible School. While I was busy doing VBS aerobics...aka...music class for over 300 kids, Emily was in the preschool area having a blast. It was such an awesome week as 19 children accepted Jesus into their hearts!!! These are some pictures that were made during the week.

Florence's New Splashpad!!!

We took Emily to Florence's newest attraction last week....the Riverwalk Park Splashpad. She had such a great time playing in the water. It is adjacent to the Shoals Marriott, and sits right along the river. It is so beautiful there, and we can't wait to go back for more fun!!!

Fairy Princess :)

I found this beautiful fairy princess costume, and couldn't resist. I want to have Emily photographed for her 2 year shots in the costume, but couldn't resist snapping a few of her playing dress-up in it to share.

Splashin' Around!!!

We pulled Emily's pool out yesterday and filled it up for her. She loves for us to pull her slide out, so that she can make a big splash! Click below to view video!
