Kindergarten....Day 2!!!

At some point, I'm sure I will stop snapping pictures EVERY morning before school, but I cannot get over how adorable she looks everyday with her backpack :) And this morning, she was SO proud because she got to wear her Twinkle Toe shoes! She has been begging for Twinkle Toes forever, and I had put her off as long as I could, but she finally got her way :) It was another great day in Kindergarten....she got dropped off at the gym....she did great, but Mommy almost had a break down. Watching her walk into that gym with all the other big kids, she grew up instantly in front of me. She was smiling again when I picked her up, and couldn't wait to tell me about all the kids that got in trouble....that has been the first thing she has told me about both days so far. She got to go to art class today, and she said that was her favorite part of the day! So thankful that she is enjoying it so much!!!

1st Day of Kindergarten!!!

Monday, August 15th, was officially Emily's 1st day of Kindergarten!!! She has been so excited for a long time about starting to big school!!! We started the morning with a great breakfast...Em's choices were a waffle and a cereal bar! Then it was time to pack her lunch and get all dressed up for the first day, and of course....make LOTS of pictures!!! I walked her to her class, and she did so GREAT!!!! No tears, no clinging...and Emily did great too...LOL....it was the best possible first day drop-off!!! When I picked Emily up after school, she was all smiles walking to the car! She talked non-stop from 2:30 until she finally crashed around 8:00 in the bed. I'm so thankful for an exciting first day for her....hope the ones to follow are just as great!!!

Emily was featured on the Huntsville Hospital Foundation's website for the upcoming Miracle Bash, a benefit for the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund. Follow the link to see....

Look At Me Now!!!

In April 2008, Emily was invited to the Huntsville Hospital NICU class of 2006 reunion. Basically, they invite all the preemie's that were born in 2006 and spent time in the NICU to come and meet back up with the doctors and nurses that took care of them! We bought Emily this "Look At Me Now" shirt at the reunion, and at the time, it swallowed her. I snapped her picture in the shirt just the other day, and it's just amazing to see how much and how fast she has grown these last few years. Pretty soon, that little t-shirt won't fit at all :(

Emily and Clark!

Emily is always thrilled when Clark comes to Florence for a visit! He brought a surprise with him this time...his new waterslide!!! They had such a great time playing together at Nana and Papa's house!!!

Happy Birthday Peyton!!!

Happy Birthday to our FAVORITE Daddy!!!

On July 25th, we celebrated Scott's birthday! Emily is ALL about a birthday party, so we decorated up a little, invited Nana and Papa Clark over, and had a delicious strawberry cake to celebrate with!!!

A little Handy Festival FUN!!!!

Every year, the Shoals area celebrates the life and music of W.C. Handy with a week-long music festival. There are always lots of great concerts and bands to hear. This year, Emily and I were both excited about a children's concert with Jeff Slaughter, who writes the VBS music each year for Lifeway! Since I teach music, Emily and I get to learn the dance moves every summer with Jeff Slaughter via DVD, so this was great to get to sing and dance to the songs with him in person! All the kiddos were on the stage with him, and it was LOTS of FUN!!!

Emily, Ellie and Crawford with Jeff Slaughter in their new tee's!!!

Getting Ready.....

Emily has been so excited about picking out all her new Kindergarten supplies, but most excited about THE backpack and lunchbox! She was thrilled the day the UPS truck dropped off a package for her...she couldn't wait to try out her new Kindergarten gear!!!
